Modern Plastic Life

Using a plastic bag? A bottle of water? A computer? Or even a life saver air bag?
Imagine, if all this disappears.

Plastics are honoured for the numerous phases of modern life that each individual enjoys in today’s world. Be it sports, leisure activities, communication, safety and security, electronics, name any, the world is incomplete without it.

This industry manufactures polymer materials. The industry offers bountiful benefits to the people all over the world. It covers a range of industries right from the food industry, our very basic need, to the packaging and transportation, building and construction, aerospace, health care industry and many more. The services offered by this industry to the various facets of life are indispensable and quite essentials in the present world generation.

Recycling, which is a life saver of the future, is one main characteristic feature of this workable Industry. The process came to recognition during the environmental revolution of the late 1960s. The first recycling mill for waste Techniques was originally built it Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, which started functioning in 1972.

Here, the recycling refers to a process where the waste plastic is reprocessed to a useful product. The processed final product can be in several forms different from its original state. The processes to recycle are of varied types like Thermal depolymerisation, Heat compression and so on.

The procedure begins with sorting the items by their resin content. The plastic is sorted based on the type or on the colour. Once sorted, they are chopped into small pieces and chunks. These pieces are further cleaned to remove debris like paper labels, residue from the inside, dirt, dust and any other small contaminants.

After the cleaning process, the pieces are melted and compressed into tiny pellets called nurdles. In this state, the pellets are ready to be reused and designed into complete new and different products. In such industry, the recycled is hardly used to create the same or identical plastic item of its former self.

The fact that producing recycled plastic does not reduce the very need for virgin plastic. However, the recycling can reduce consumption of natural environmental resources like timber and several other products.

Common recycled Plastics are:
  1.  Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE)  Commonly used in soft drinks, butter jars water etc.
  2.   High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Commonly used in Milk, juice, water bottles, trash and retail bags.
  3. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Commonly used in cling films and PVC piping.
  4.  Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Commonly used in frozen food bags, freezable bottles and flexible contained lids.
According to a report from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India generates 5.6 million metric tons of Plastic waste annually, with Delhi generating the most of it at municipality at 689.5 metric tons almost every day.

Any kind of help that saves the environment is worth doing. Recycling in this industry has come a long way since the beginning and continues to help reduce the amount of waste in our vicinity.

Use, recycle and re-use, are the golden phrases for our future generations.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT EMPLOYER

After all you would never want to end up in the Horrible Bosses scene, right?
Many a times it so happens that the pressure of just taking up some job to fill in the time and the needed money, makes you degrade your skill level and find some immediate job.
If you are doing so, stop immediately! Take a Scroll below before the next employer blasts on you or you falling in the deep pit.

KNOW THE MARKET
In the present advanced world, where a new company is registered daily, business growing from Conglomerates to niche businesses, the demand for work is also increasing. A Digital Marketer has a better scope and pay than a personal seller. Times have changed and you have to walk with the change. Self-analyse your own qualification and skill set and relate it to the companies while you make your Most Wanted Companies list.

KNOW THE COMPANY
The years of experience you might have in a particular field, might still be less in a new company or an existing but continuously evolving company. Hence it is significant that you know what the company does, its products and services and what the company is expecting from you.
Remember! Employer is always interested in what YOU know about HIS Company rather than him telling you what it is. Only if you are satisfied with the industry, the company and most importantly your own job description, get in!

TALK A LOT
Too much talking is a mess! No, Not always!
Walk up to Career fairs, employer events, walk-ins and interviews and talk to all possible employers. This will showcase your own initiative and simultaneously increase your knowledge of the current employers and their activities. The above process will help you better choose the people you want to work with.

STAY UPDATED!
Have you really flipped through the updated company website recently? the Mission statement, Values and goals? Not yet? Did you get to know of their long term plans? Or even the present year plans? Go, Find out! Do the above! This will undoubtedly give you a better edge and appraisals from the employer.

ETHICAL SHARE
Are your values and ethics in line with the company? Please make sure before your take the job. There might be industries where in you can’t relate yourself to. You might be into too much of societal enterprise working, but the company has gambling as their base job or tobacco. You will never be satisfied working there. Forget satisfaction, your beginning can be the end.
So ask yourself this question before you move ahead if you share similar values or not.

BE ON TRACK
If you have Finance as your core specialization, take up jobs in the similar field. Even if you have no job in hand for a couple of months, there is no point beating around the bush in other jobs. The employer is going to ask you that straight question on your face! Why did you get into a Selling job, when your qualification and interests show Finance?
So protect yourself from falling prey and be proactive.

GET COMFORTABLE
When you shop for the right shoes you walk and see if they are really comfortable. Isn’t it? Similarly, whenever you are choosing an employer, make sure you can adapt to the environment.
Is the work really flexible?
Is there a balance between work and fun?
Motivation, work culture and other factors that are on your priority list!

If you are satisfied with the above, I am pretty sure you will land up in the right job with the right employer.

Productive 2015!

For a productive career 2015, by now, you must have made a list, started with a few and missed on a few resolutions, ALREADY. You can’t hide that smile! But the inner desire in you to improve your past is undoubtedly the motive for a better YOU! To further and to work better.

"I will lose weight this year" a vague resolution.
Really? How much weight? And by when? After you eat that favourite rasgulla of yours?

“I am for sure applying to 2 jobs daily" a perfect resolution!
Open than best friend of yours, Google out, and APPLY! Has technology made it really that simple? Yes, of course! and most importantly the job search engines have.

Sitting at your desk, day long, answering the never ending list of mails and telephones, stressing your back, might not really look flowery every year. How do you go ahead then? SMARTness!

Your SMARTness determines how your whole year goes. SMARTness in your way of optimizing resources, SMARTness in your job search and SMARTness in your decisions.

A New YEAR is giving rise to budding entrepreneurs and IT Industry, ultimately generating more employment opportunities all over the world. Similarly, the number of Universities and Colleges adding in each year, showcases the number of students ready to take up a job.

The competition is like a war ground, if one loses focus for even a single minute, the other takes advantage, and the job lands up in his/her diligent hands.

* Do a self-brain assessment, jot down everything inside out and work towards it.

* Set up a TO-DO list every day for you to raise and raise in your career this year.

* A little polish to your RESUME, the only face of you online, makes it a necessity.

* INNOVATION: Welcome new ideas and new methods of thinking and doing.

* Spending your TIME well? Why not stick a paper on your wall and write what you have done every 3 hours? This will definitely boost up your motive of a successive year. Try an App!

* Learn to say NO, a principle that I have been following since ages, which helped me reach a safe market stand today. But mind it, don't say it the wrong way, idealize a few lines that will help you to graciously decline.

* Take a BREAK! For your SMARTness to reach peaks this bright year, make sure you take that enough break every some time. Dance a step on your favourite number, move out in the fresh breeze, stretch yourself and take that required nap.

Whatever you do, short term or long-term goals, be honest with yourself as to what you would really like to succeed in, measure it realistically and make this year your MOST productive year.

Happiest year of you career!
